Dominican Missionary Sisters

Dominicans2.jpg

We are an international Congregation of Catholic Sisters – women of contemplation and action, proclaiming the Good News of a God who loves and calls us.

We are engaged in health, education, media, social and pastoral work in Africa, Latin America and Europe, co-ordinated by the sisters of the Generalate, Gossops Green, Crawley, UK.

The Lay Dominicans

The Crawley Lay Fraternity was established in the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton in 2023, with the permission of Bishop Richard Moth.

We are part of the worldwide Order of Preachers (Dominicans), a Religious Order founded in 1216 by St Dominic of Guzman. Dominican Lay Fraternities welcome Catholic men and women, married or single, who wish to discern a call to follow the charism of St Dominic.

The heartbeat of the Dominican Order is the quest for the truth who is Jesus Christ, and the desire to point others to Him.

Dominican spirituality is built upon study, prayer, community and preaching. This is the common formation of the whole Dominican family, and as lay people, we live our vocation in family or parish life, in the workplace or in places of study.

The Crawley Lay Fraternity meets monthly for prayer, formation and fellowship at the Dominican Missionary Sisters Convent, Gossops Green.
